Fantastic property tucked into the hillside with wonderful views from the rooftop deck. Rooms are clean and comfortable. Pool is a welcome respite from the heat. The location is perfect for anyone doing business at INM and it is a 15 minute walk to both INM and downtown. You can also Uber for just $5. But what makes this place super special are the hosts !!! Chris and Bruce are kind, generous and warm hosts who made the trip extra special. We look forward to returning soon !!!

Cannot wait to return....what a refreshing place of comfort amidst an amazing town. It has everything you need to recharge your batteries. I would recommend coming for their end of the month Social! What a fun party where you can meet local people and dance. The pool here was my favorite of anywhere I have been. It's beautiful and has a little bit of shade from the tree for someone with red head skin like me. The beds are FULL comfort, I slept like a baby every night. The hosts are very helpful, and will ensure your enjoy your stay. Easy to uber anywhere, and also short walks to restaurants and stores.

Such warm and welcoming owners, beautiful views of San Miguel, and the most comfortable chairs by the pool (important!) Stay here and support this growing, diverse, loving community.

La Joya Azul is a rare gem! Chris and Bruce are amazing hosts and their place is meticulously clean. It’s in a perfect location and the amenities are top notch. If looking to travel to San Miguel, do not stay anywhere else but here. I’m already planning my next visit!

After spending a week in Mexico City, we arrived at the fabulous Airbnb, La Joya Azul, in San Miguel Allende. Our last week in Mexico couldn't have been better. This place exceeded all expectations. From the warm and helpful hosts, Chris and Bruce, to the serene poolside sanctuary, beautiful rooms, super comfortable beds, well-equipped kitchen, and fantastic hot showers, everything was perfect. The artwork throughout is gorgeous, attention to details of decoration, so enjoyed. The rooftop terrace provided a stunning spot to watch the sunset, play cards, and even dance! Plus, everything we wanted to explore was within walking distance, and we always felt safe and welcomed. We're already looking forward to returning amd won’t stay anywhere else.

Probably one of the most beautiful property I’ve stayed in Mexico. It’s like a riad, a hidden sanctuary just on the edge of town. Only 15 mins walk to the centro area. The area is quiet and safe. The locals are very friendly. The accommodation is stunningly appointed with self service kitchen with free breakfast (yogurt, granola, tea, coffee and water plus an honorary bar which is very well stocked. Lots of original artwork everywhere. Just gorgeous, creative like SMA. We stayed in the pool side room on the ground floor. Extremely spacious. Bathroom had nice amenities with a rain shower and very hot water. Bed is solid and very comfortable. The pool is great for cooling off in the afternoon sun or walk up and down the cobble stone hills. The property has 3 levels. With a large rooftop terrace looking at the main centro. Great for sunset hours and a few drinks. Our host Chris is very welcoming and friendly. We felt like we were staying at a friend’s place rather than a hotel. His has a cat and a couple of dogs that are the friendliest and they cuddle up to you. Whilst the B&B is LGBTQ+ owned, it’s very inclusive and welcome all guests. They have monthly tea dance and weekly Zumba which you can join. I would definitely stay again and recommend this gorgeous B&B to anyone visiting SMA. Whilst it’s not central, the plus side is it’s quieter and taxis are cheap if you don’t fancy a 15 minute walk.

If you are going to visit San Miguel, you will love this place as your home base! The rooms and beds are beyond comfortable and so cozy. The place is clean and creatively decorated - much of the art created by locals... even the bottom of the pool! There's a full community kitchen if you want to cook or store leftovers. There's complementary yogurt and granola for a morning snack. It's in a great, safe area to walk to all there is to see and do in San Miguel. The hosts make the place... with advice and help as needed. They arranged a spectacular in-room massage for me, pointed me to local eats and even included me in a monthly LGBTQ+ friendly gathering on their rooftop gathering space. It was fun to meet the locals and get the inside scoop of what to see and do nearby. The hosts recommended a day trip to Guanajuato which ended up being an unexpected bonus to this trip. I am a frequent traveler and loved everything about this guest house hotel!!
